albert renger-patzsch
Albert Renger-Patzsch was a German photographer who worked with the art movement of "New Objectivity" in the 1920s. Renger-Patzsch had a very positive attitude towards photography, in his book he wrote "There must be an increase in the joy one takes in an object, and the photographer should be fully conscious of the splendid fidelity of reproduction made possible by his technique". In 1928, Renger-Patzsch published "The World is Beautiful", these are a collection of one hundred photos, these photographs showed how everything in life can be made to look beautiful, it just depends on how you take the photograph.

Analysis
I like both of the images to the right however I personally like the one of the left more. I also like the image to the right as it is very geometric and is a very man made image as it is of plumbing.
The plumbing has quite a lot of depth to it as you know that pipes aren't flat and it looks like there is depth as the bolts have different angles going around the pipe. The light is also from the left side of the image as that is the side of the pipe that is reflecting the most light. The image of the plumbing has also been cropped so that there is around the same amount of space for each side of the pipe. |
The one above is my favourite because I like the shadows and how the shadows are full of different lines. There is also some repetition in the image above as it shows all the different glasses and their shadows.

Evaluation
I don't really like the image to the right. I am not really sure what I don't like about it, I think it might be because the whole image is based on wood and only has wood in it. There seems to be no focus point of this image and it looks quite full and overcrowded with nothing special.

I was trying to take a picture of the bars on my rabbits cage whilst she wasn't there but then she jumped in her cage. I think it kind of distracts you from the bars on the cage which I still think would have made a great photograph, however I also think it might have made the image better as it shows that sometimes there is something behind the bars.
